Advantage and disadvantage of living in an extended family
Từ vựng gợi ý: support, care, look after children, share feelings, valuable advice.
Từ vựng gợi ý: share household chores, do the cooking, clean the house, take care of the house.
Từ vựng gợi ý: financial burden, save money, support each other financially.
Từ vựng gợi ý: family bond, get closer, spend time together.
Disadvantages (Bất lợi)
- Lack of privacy: Thiếu sự riêng tư.
Từ vựng gợi ý: lack of privacy, no personal space, feel uncomfortable.
- More conflicts: Nhiều xung đột hơn.
Từ vựng gợi ý: arguments, conflicts, have different opinions.
Từ vựng gợi ý: feel pressure, follow the rules, meet expectations.
1. Introduction (Mở bài):
Ví dụ: “Living in an extended family, where grandparents, parents, and children live together, is a traditional lifestyle in Vietnam. However, this way of living has both advantages and disadvantages.”
2. Body (Thân bài):
– Đoạn 1: Nói về các lợi ích (Advantages).
+ Bắt đầu bằng một câu chủ đề, ví dụ: “On the one hand, there are several benefits of living in an extended family.”
+ Bắt đầu bằng một câu chuyển ý, ví dụ: “On the other hand, living with many relatives can also have some drawbacks.”
+ Dùng các từ nối như The biggest disadvantage is…, In addition, Finally để trình bày các ý còn lại.
3. Conclusion (Kết bài):
Ví dụ: “In conclusion, while an extended family can provide great support and strong family bonds, it may also lead to a lack of privacy and conflicts. Whether it is a good choice depends on the tolerance and mutual respect among family members.”
Living in an extended family, which consists of several generations under one roof, is still common in many Asian countries, including Vietnam. This way of living has both its own advantages and disadvantages.
On the one hand, there are several significant benefits. Firstly, members of an extended family can offer each other great emotional support. For example, grandparents can help look after the children, and young people can learn from the valuable advice of their elders. Secondly, sharing household chores helps reduce the burden on each person. When everyone contributes to cooking, cleaning, and other tasks, no one feels overwhelmed. Moreover, living together strengthens family bonds because family members have more opportunities to spend quality time together.
On the other hand, living in a multi-generational home can present some challenges. The most obvious disadvantage is the lack of privacy. It can be difficult to have personal space when you are always surrounded by relatives. In addition, the generation gap is often a source of conflict. Different generations may have different viewpoints on topics like lifestyles, careers, or raising children, which can lead to misunderstandings and arguments. Finally, younger members might feel pressure to follow the family’s traditions and rules, which sometimes limits their freedom.
In conclusion, while an extended family provides a supportive environment, it also comes with drawbacks such as a lack of privacy and potential conflicts. Ultimately, a happy life in an extended family requires understanding, respect, and communication among all members.
